Information We Collect

When you create an account, we collect your name and email address from your sign-in provider (Google or Apple). We also collect the content you choose to log in the app: angel number sightings, photos, reflections, moods, activities, and any personal notes or categories you create.

Categories of personal information we collect:

• Identifiers: name, email address
• User-generated content: photos, journal entries, sightings, moods, reflections, and custom categories you create
• Usage data: basic app activity such as features used and session information, collected to operate and improve the Service
• Subscription and purchase information: your plan, subscription status, and renewal dates, received from Apple through RevenueCat
• Account user ID: a unique identifier assigned to your Angel App account

Because Angel App is a spiritual journal, your entries may include personal reflections about your beliefs, feelings, and experiences. We treat this as sensitive information and use it only to provide app functionality.

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used solely to provide the Angel App experience — displaying your personal gallery, generating your Memory Recap, and personalizing your spiritual journaling. We do not sell, rent, share, or disclose your personal information to third parties for their own purposes.

We also use usage data, your account user ID, and subscription and purchase information for analytics, to understand how the app is used and to improve it.

Your photos are stored securely in cloud storage for the sole purpose of displaying your personal gallery and generating your Memory Recap collage. We do not view, access, analyze, or use your photos for any other purpose, including marketing or advertising. Your photos and sightings are private to your account and are never visible to other users or to us in the ordinary course of operating the Service.

AI Features

Angel App uses Claude, an AI made by Anthropic, to create your Weekly Guidance and Deep Patterns insights. These insights are generated only for users who turn on AI personalization.

Only the journal entries needed for those features are sent to Claude, and only after you tap Allow on the AI personalization consent screen. Nothing is sent while AI personalization is off. We never send your photos, your name, your email address, or your saved tags.

Your entries are never sold, never used for advertising, never used to track you, and never used to train AI.

Your entries are never used to train AI. Our team does not read your journal entries.

You can turn AI personalization off anytime in Settings. Once it is off, no new content is sent to Claude.

Location

Angel App does not collect or use your device location. The app never requests location access, and no location data is gathered, stored, or shared.

Safety Check

Entries are automatically checked against a list of phrases that may suggest distress, so the app can show support resources like the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. This check runs on your device and on our own servers. No person reviews your entries, the result is not stored, and entries flagged by this check are never sent to our AI provider.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your personal information with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising. If this practice ever changes, we will update this policy and provide you with the right to opt out before any such sharing occurs.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account through My Account settings, all of your data — including your photos, sightings, reflections, and personal categories — is permanently deleted from our systems. You may also delete individual sightings at any time from within the app.

Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored using industry-standard encryption and secure cloud infrastructure. We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or loss.

Service Providers

We work with the following service providers, who process your data only to provide their services to us:

• Base44: app hosting and runtime, user authentication, database, backend functions, and private file storage with signed links
• Anthropic (Claude): generates personalized pattern insights and weekly guidance from your journal entries, only when AI personalization is on
• RevenueCat: verifies subscription status and routes App Store purchases
• Despia: the native iOS app that packages Angel App for the App Store and presents the in-app paywall
• Apple: sign-in provider and, on iPhone, processes subscriptions through the App Store and your Apple ID
• Google: sign-in provider

Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

• Know what personal information we collect about you and how it is used
• Request deletion of your personal information
• Opt out of the sale of your personal information (we do not sell it)
• Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights

Children's Privacy

Angel App is intended for users who are 17 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 17. If we learn that we have collected information from a user under 17, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a minor under 17 has created an account, please contact us at hello@officialangelapp.com.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or in-app notice before the changes take effect. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
